EBSD testing with the MT-1000 tensile stage

At the university of Villetaneuse (Laboratory of Process and Materials Sciences) Mr Ovidiu BRINZA uses the heating tensile stage MT1000 in EBSD configuration at temperatures up to 800°C.

Step 1

In-situ tensile test carried out in a flat position on a cold metal sample until failure with monitoring of the parameters: temperature, force and elongation. Multi-zone SEM imaging in automatic mode with image registration (see video at the bottom).

Step 2

Installation of a new sample identical to the previous one. Tensile stage in EBSD position, tilted at 70°. Heating up to 480°C for 3 hours and EBSD imaging every hour.

Step 3

After cooling down to room temperature, in-situ tensile test in flat position on a cold metal sample until failure with monitoring of force and elongation temperature parameters. One-area SEM imaging in automatic mode with image registration (see video at the bottom).
